Working as NT service

Net Time Server & Client can work as NT service so can be used without being properly logged into your computer, or can be used under user login with restricted rights.

Install

• You must use Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003/Vista system.
• You probably must have Administrator privileges...
• Make sure "Net Time Server & Client Service" component is installed properly. Verify that you have file NTimeSvc.exe in your installation directory, by default, it is "C:\Program Files\NetTime".
• Start the "Net Time Server & Client (Normal mode)" or "Net Time Server & Client (Advanced mode)" from the Windows "Start" menu: Enter "Programs" then "Net Time Server & Client" and then run the "Net Time Server & Client (Normal mode)" or "Net Time Server & Client (Advanced mode)" item.
• Choose the "Service" item from the tree menu on the left side of the "Main window" to display the "Service" page, simply check the "Work as NT service" box to install the service.
• Press the "Start" button to start the service, and then you can exit the "Net Time Server & Client (Normal mode)" or "Net Time Server & Client (Advanced mode)".

  Note:

  After install the service, It doesn't work until you start it or restart the system.

Uninstall

• You probably must have Administrator privileges...
• Start the "Net Time Server & Client (Normal mode)" or "Net Time Server & Client (Advanced mode)" from the Windows "Start" menu: Enter "Programs" then "Net Time Server & Client" and then run the "Net Time Server & Client (Normal mode)" or "Net Time Server & Client (Advanced mode)" item.
• Choose the "Service" item from the tree menu on the left side of the "Main window" to display the "Service" page, if the service is running or paused, please press the "Stop" button to stop it before uninstalling.
• Clear the "Work as a service" box to uninstall the service.

Manage

• Start the "Net Time Server & Client (Normal mode)" or "Net Time Server & Client (Advanced mode)" from the Windows "Start" menu: Enter "Programs" then "Net Time Server & Client" and then run the "Net Time Server & Client (Normal mode)" or "Net Time Server & Client (Advanced mode)" item.
• Choose the "Service" item on the tree menu on the left side of the "Main window" to display the "Service" page.
• In the "Service" page, the service status will be displayed, and you can Install, Uninstall, Start, or Stop the service, you can pause and continue the service, also. See also the "Service".
